Rufus Raves
Visitors of mine picked up Rufus And The Rain, adults that is, and loved it. They remarked how well written it was and how difficult it is to write children’s books. One of these people is a well known academic writer. so she’s someone who does know good stuff when she sees it. Also among the readers were younger people - university students - who had a lot of positive comments about both the storyline and the art. I would very much like you to sign the copies I have so that I can pop them in the mail to my grandchildren.

Hi Mark
Rufus arrived in our school library today! He looks lovely! Our librarian warmly invites you to come to school, read to some children, autograph your book, and sing us a song as well if you like!

Hi Mark
Have been keeping up to date with Rufus - it looks like a gorgeous story, so much so I have ordered several from New Zealand Books Abroad - 5 in fact - 1 each for our grandchildren and also for niece and great nephew!

Dear Mark
I sent a copy of Rufus to a young friend in Australia who just loves him. Her mum said they've found it delightful and Poppy loves having Kay read it to her. Keith’s grand-daughter, at 5 years old, read it to herself - an advanced reader for her age - and she really enjoyed it. I think it's a delightful story with a wonderful message and the illustrations are perfect. I know that I'll want to buy more copies of it in future for the children of friends and also for my (hopefully!!!) grandchildren. Wishing you all the best.

Hi Mark
Thanks so much for signing the two copies of Rufus - they came this morning, brightening a cold day. Can't wait to give the books to the children (that is, when I've had another read myself). One of my favourite bits is: "Thank you, little Bear," said Cloud. "It's nice to be appreciated. It's not easy for us, you know. Everybody always tells us to go away." Being told to go away is so awful - especially when people tell you that at school or pre-school. I'm glad to be encouraged to feel sorry for a cloud.
